Health and Safety Business Partner
Location: Hybrid working: a combination of working from home, and working from our office in Newcastle upon Tyne
Type: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hpw)
Salary: Circa £50,000 pa depending on experience, with a car allowance and benefits including a health cash plan
About us: You’ll be an important member of our highly respected and specialist health and safety team. We currently hold a 5* rating with the British Safety Council. Our success relies on strong relationships across the business and with external partners.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement the Health and Safety strategy, plans, and policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Support operational management teams, including developing training programs.
* Conduct health and safety checks, audits, and inspections; create monthly management reports based on performance data.
* Advise on contractor procurement processes and maintain relationships with the supply chain.
* Collaborate with colleagues within the Health and Safety team.
Qualifications and Experience:
* NEBOSH Dip or equivalent, IOSH Cert, actively working towards CMIOSH, maintaining CPD as per IOSH standards.
* Experience in maintenance/construction H&S management or similar roles.
* Experience in risk assessments, method statements, and supporting construction-related health and safety issues.
* Ability to analyze incidents and complete investigation reports.
* Experience in writing and reviewing health and safety policies and procedures.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Full UK driving license for business use.

Job Details:
* Working days: Monday to Friday
* Responsibility for health and safety across your region, with occasional travel nationwide.
* Flexible work setup: from home or local offices, provided with necessary technology.
* Expected to spend about 2-3 days per week on the road, with the rest working from home or in the office.
