Agency Support Worker
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes or through home care services. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans while ensuring the well-being of those we serve.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
* Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each client's needs.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
* Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
* Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in care practices.
Skills
* Experience in a care home or home care setting is highly desirable.
* Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to facilitate clear communication with clients and colleagues.
* Ability to drive and hold a valid driving licence for transporting clients when necessary.
* Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software.
* Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
* A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
