As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Chief Administrative Office Technology, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
1. Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
2. Establishes a strong team built on firm values
3. Implements best practises and processes for software development, ensuring efficiency, quality and scalability
4. Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
5. Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
6. Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
7. Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
8. Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
9. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience. In addition, advanced experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of experience
10. Deep understanding of fullstack Java development, architecture, databases, and production related issues
11. Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
12. Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
13. Strong stakeholder management experience
14. Practical cloud native experience
15. Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
16. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
