Nursery Assistant
Early Years Setting - Ellesmere Port
Start Date: May (ASAP)
Contract: Temporary, full-time
Pay: Hourly rate (competitive)
If you're the kind of Nursery Assistant who notices the quiet child in the corner, celebrates the small wins, and knows that the best learning often happens through play-you'll feel right at home here.
We're working with a warm, community-focused nursery in Ellesmere Port that is looking for a Level 3 qualified Nursery Assistant to join them on a temporary basis. This isn't just an extra pair of hands-they're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being part of children's early journeys and can bring a calm, steady presence to the room.
About the Role
You'll be part of a close-knit team, supporting children through their day-from curious play moments to settling routines. No two days will look exactly the same, but your role will centre around creating a space where children feel safe, engaged and encouraged to explore.
You'll have the opportunity to build real connections with the children, tuning into their individual needs and supporting their development in a way that feels natural rather than forced. The team values practitioners who can read the room, adapt quickly, and bring a gentle structure to the day.
Requirements
Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
Experience working within a nursery or early years environment
A good working knowledge of the EYFS framework
A warm, approachable and dependable nature
A natural ability to support children's confidence, independence and emotional development
An instinct for creating a calm, positive environment, even on busier days
Setting Ethos
This is a setting where relationships come first. Children are encouraged to be curious, expressive and themselves, while staff work together to create a consistent, caring environment that feels both structured and relaxed. It's a place where your contribution will be noticed and valued.
What's on Offer
Competitive hourly rate
A genuinely supportive and down-to-earth team
Flexibility within a temporary role
The chance to be part of a setting that prioritises care as much as learning
This role would suit someone who prefers meaningful interactions over box-ticking-someone who is patient, observant, and quietly confident in their practice. If you're looking for a temporary role where you can make a real impact without the pressure of long-term commitment, this could be a great fit.
