Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Food Production Assistant to join our team in Mayobridge. You will play a vital role in our in-store food production, assisting with the preparation, processing, and packaging of a variety of fresh food items for our customers. This position requires a strong focus on hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork, ensuring that our food products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of a range of food items, such as salads, sandwiches, ready meals, and baked goods, following established recipes and guidelines.
* Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including slicers, mixers, ovens, and packaging machinery (full training will be provided).
* Ensure all food preparation and handling processes adhere to strict food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP procedures.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning and sanitization of equipment and surfaces.
* Package and label food products accurately and efficiently, ensuring they are presented attractively for sale.
* Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
* Undertake other duties as reasonably requested to support the efficient operation of the food production area.
Skills and Qualifications:
* While previous experience in food preparation or handling is beneficial, it is not always essential as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
* A basic understanding of food hygiene principles is desirable, and a willingness to undertake relevant food safety training (e.g., CIEH Level 2 Food Safety) will be expected.
* Good communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating effectively with colleagues.
* Ability to follow instructions carefully and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* A strong work ethic and a positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and contribute to the team's success.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
* Flexibility to work varied hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on the needs of the business.
