Job Overview
We are offering a secondment opportunity within the Supply Chain, Logistics and Transport Team at Hywel Dda University Health Board and forms part of a wider Scan for Safety team. The role focuses on supporting projects that improve patient safety and supply chain processes using scanning technology and digital tracking systems. The post is a fixed‑term/secondment for 7 months. Applicants must obtain permission from their current line manager prior to applying. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
Main duties of the job
* To be responsible for the development of the Materials Management systems across the Health Board, leading Materials Management staff based on all sites. This also involves working with senior nursing staff, clinical governance leads and other stakeholders.
* To develop and deliver detailed information from the Inventory Management (Scan 4 Safety) systems to inform decisions on configuration and usage to maximise stockholding efficiency and accessibility of clinical & non‑clinical consumable stock, via live dashboards.
* To develop the materials management service and undertake opportunity assessments in relation to the extension of the inventory management system to all sites within the Health Board in line with the Common Operating Model across NHS Wales.
* To install, maintain, train and operate the inventory management systems.
* To be the site lead for the inventory management system, providing specialist technical advice and support to staff involved in delivering direct patient care.
* To be a member of the site management team and lead on site‑based projects that may be outside the area of responsibility.
* To contribute to and represent Procurement Services on any relevant All‑Wales groups, and to lead on All‑Wales projects that have been disseminated from the All‑Wales work groups.
