Are you passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Assistant to join our Information, Advice and Guidance Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in improving outcomes for young people who are at risk of, or currently not in, education, employment or training. You will ensure they receive timely support, encouragement and advocacy to help them move forward.
Sheffield is committed to providing an outstanding offer outside of formal education. Our aim is to deliver consistent, professional IAG support that enables young residents to thrive.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, well‑organised and self‑motivated individual with strong verbal and written communication skills. As an IAG Assistant, you will provide careers information and advice to young people, predominantly those aged 16–19 who are unemployed. You will support their job‑seeking activities, signpost them to relevant services, and maintain a caseload of young people who you will stay in regular contact with. A key part of the role is re‑engaging young people who may have become disconnected from work or learning.
Support will be delivered in young people’s homes, schools and community settings to ensure it is accessible and responsive to need.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 10 June.
