Location: This role is based in Felixstowe, with a 1-week on/off rotation. Candidates must live within one hour of the port and have a full UK driving license and own vehicle.
Your Responsibilities:
* Ensure all machinery is operational and well-maintained.
* Maintain safety standards for vessel operations.
* Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Report faults and coordinate repairs.
* Manage resources like lubricants and bunkers.
* Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
* Supervise and train engineering staff.
* Assist in survey planning and defect management.
* Collaborate with deck and engine teams.
* Engage in ongoing professional development.
* Take on additional duties as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum STCW III/1 EOOW Unlimited or higher
* All STCW basic training, with at least 6 months validity remaining
* ENG1 Medical, with at least 6 months validity remaining
* Full UK Driving License
* Aspiring to become a Chief Engineer
* Strong analytical and fault diagnosis skills
* Experience in harbor or terminal towage preferred
* Some deck experience advantageous
* Good administrative and communication skills
