The role:
Are you a graduate that's interested in working in education? Or are you somebody with skills from other industries that would enable you to deliver pre-planned lessons to students effectively?
An East Riding of Yorkshire Secondary School seeks to appoint a a Cover Supervisor to work in fixed term contract from September 25 until July 26.
What is a Cover Supervisor?
As a Cover Supervisor you will be responsible for leading lessons of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher. You will cover classes across the full range of secondary school subjects, but don’t worry, you are not expected to be a subject specialist in each area. The lesson will always be planned, and this will be provided in advance. It is your role as the Cover Supervisor to facilitate the classes learning, manage classroom behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide a handover to the absent teacher.

Requirements
The desired Cover Supervisor will have:
1. A degree or equivalent education.
2. A passion for working with young people
3. A confident and engaging persona that will allow you to deliver lessons to students
4. A willingness to undertake our free training programme and apply for an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service
5. A passion for education and providing the highest possible level of support to young people.
