Responsibilities
The Residential Child Care Worker acts as a corporate parent for children looked after by the local authority, championing their rights and wellbeing in accordance with the Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations and the quality standards. Responsibilities include: caring for and supporting children with complex and additional needs; extending care and support to the children’s families, carers and professionals; fostering an environment where young people are nurtured, happy, healthy and safe; facilitating their development, thriving and the fulfilment of their full potential; performing shift work, sleep-overs, bank holidays and weekend duties.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold or be willing to pursue a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Child Care. Band 8 candidates should be willing to work towards the Level 3 Diploma; Band 9 candidates should already hold the Level 3 Diploma or equivalent.
