The Account Director position is a remote, work‑from‑home role at Acceleration Partners, a central pillar of our culture aimed at changing the work/life paradigm. Candidates must be located in the UK. Some travel (for client or internal meetings, conferences, etc.) is required.


The Role

The Account Director is a critical role that thrives on growing online brands and delivering innovative strategies that drive client success. This role focuses on engaging directly with brands across our client portfolio, consistently delivering the growth and outcomes we are known for.

This person will build strong relationships with clients, understand their business needs, and create solutions that support them. They will coach a portfolio of accounts, ensuring revenue growth and client retention, while also identifying and closing expansion opportunities. They will help lead pitching and winning new business as a subject‑matter expert and work closely with Program Directors to oversee large account teams, maintaining high standards and aligning with client needs.


Top 5 Job Responsibilities

* Client Management and Engagement – Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of clients, earning trust and encouraging growth. Engage heavily with client contacts, develop a deep understanding of their businesses, and build rapport at all levels, including C‑suite leaders. Anticipate and proactively address client risks and opportunities, owning client‑facing dialogue on escalations.
* Strategic Thinking and Implementation – Develop forward‑thinking strategies that wow clients and secure buy‑in. Identify and capture high‑potential opportunities, pitch and optimize them with client buy‑in, and work with the account team to execute innovative tactics that exceed channel and business objectives. Use data to make strategic decisions and sell clients on these decisions, delivering quality outputs such as QBRs, strategy decks, and reporting.
* Market Innovation and Big Picture Thinking – Stay abreast of industry developments, new publisher models, and trends to support clients effectively. Translate market trends into actionable strategies that deliver results for clients in any environment.
* AP Revenue Accountability and Growth – Hold high accountability for meeting and exceeding revenue targets. Identify expansion opportunities, lead their development and closure, monitor renewals, and maximize revenue. Pitch expansions confidently, showcasing how scope, geographic, or service expansions achieve client goals, while also playing a key role in new‑business pitches.
* Lead, Coach and Influence – Lead by influence, driving account teams to strong results without direct management. Coach Account Managers to implement new strategies and respond to client needs, and collaborate with Program Directors to ensure strong program performance and optimal hiring decisions.

By 6 Months

Overseeing the strategic direction and outcomes of multiple affiliate programs, having formed strong relationships with key client contacts, and understanding client needs. Coaches the team to deliver results without stepping into the weeds, maintaining strong Program Director collaboration, and achieving 8+ Client Satisfaction Scores.


By 1 Year

Delivering portfolio expansion targets with 90%+ revenue retention. Clients recognize the Account Director as a strategic partner, feel excited about the work delivered, and the team consistently provides A‑caliber deliverables and high satisfaction scores.


Minimum Qualifications & Skills

* 8+ years of online marketing, e‑commerce, or affiliate marketing experience
* General affiliate marketing knowledge (direct or indirect channel exposure at agency or in‑house)
* Proficiency in delivering compelling presentations, impactful decks, and storytelling (or influencing strategy)
* Experience managing revenue targets – plus
* Experience in data analysis and effective use of insights to build strategies
* Knowledge of affiliate tracking methodologies via platform partners (e.g., Radius by Impact, ShareASale)
* Microsoft Office expertise – required
* Agency or Client Service environment experience – highly preferred
* Track record of increasing client spend through up‑selling and expansion – preferred
* Ability to travel up to 25% – required
