Job Title: Waking Night - Support Worker
Pay Rate: £ £12.70 depending on qualifications and experience (an additional Waking night enchancement at £40 per night - will be paid along side the hourly rate)
Rota: 4 nights on 4 nights off (10pm - 8am)

What will I do as a Waking Night - Residential Support worker -
As a Waking Night - Residential support worker you will ensure the young people are safeguarded at all times. Attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs. Act as an appropriate role model and work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
You will
* Attend to practical matters in relation to childcare (cleaning, washing etc)
* Establishing positive relationships with young people and always offering them unconditional and positive regard
* Act as a role model
* Help young people gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct.
* Ensure that each young person's care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs
* Take responsibility for a small number of young people and ensuring that their needs are fully met
* Establish relationships which young people perceive to be positive, warm and rewarding
* Provide emotional support at times of difficulty or stress
* Keep accurate records and providing written reports on young people for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager
* Empower young people and facilitating their active involvement in the decision making about their lives and future
* Follow policies and procudures
To be consider to work for us, you must have
* Secondary Education, Maths & English
* You must be over 21 years old.
* Experience working in a setting where skills and knowledge are transferable in a therapeutic job role. (parental role, care work – care giving role)
* Candidates must be suitable to work with children & young people within a care setting (pre-employment checks)
* Ability to relate to and communicate with young people forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people.
* Childcare qualification - Diploma Level 3 /4 or equivalent or willingness to work towards this.
* Awareness of safeguarding issues and ability to safeguard the welfare of young people.
* Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
