Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Urmston
Start Date: April (after Easter holidays)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a friendly, inclusive primary school in Urmston to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Year 1 class. This full-time role (8:30am–3:30pm) begins after the Easter break and focuses on providing tailored one‑to‑one and small‑group support to children with Special Educational Needs.
The school offers a nurturing, child-centred environment where every pupil is supported to thrive. You will join a collaborative staff team dedicated to delivering an engaging, accessible, and well-rounded curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing targeted SEN support through one-to-one and small-group interventions.
* Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering personalised learning activities.
* Supporting the implementation, monitoring, and review of IEPs.
* Helping create and maintain an inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
* Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external specialists to promote progress.
* Monitoring pupil development and adapting support strategies where needed.
What We’re Looking For
* GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English and Maths.
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
* Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
* Level 2 Safeguarding certificate (or willingness to complete training).
