Our Pensions Administration business continues to grow and we are now looking for an experienced Senior Pensions Administrator to join our vibrant Perth office with hybrid working. This is an exciting role and would most likely suit someone with previous experience in Defined Benefit (DB) pension administration, able to perform manual calculations and able to check the work of less experienced pensions administrators.

We undertake pensions administration for over one million members and provide advisory services to schemes and corporate sponsors in respect of schemes of all sizes, including 88 with assets over £1bn. We also provide wider ranging support to insurancepanies in the life and bulk annuities sector.

The Role
As a Senior Pensions Administrator with XPS you will:
1. Adhere to best practice procedures in all aspects of pensions administration related tasks as defined by thepany.
2. Maintaining a client focused approach, able to develop trusting and credible partnerships with clients both face to face and via the telephone.
3. Overseeing the management of monthly and annual processes on the team. Ensuring processes are fully monitored andpleted in line with customer and legislation requirements.
4. Monitoring accuracy, performance, and SLAs for the team, including activity and client performances, and taking action to ensure targets are met
5. Ensuring standard documentation is scheme specific and incorporating them into existing procedures.
6. Where appropriate participating in client meetings.
7. Handlingplex pensions queries.
8. Sign out non-standard letters in response to client and member queries.
9. Updating relevant pension administration databases and systems.
10. Performing manual benefits calculations.
11. Helping identify any training needs across the team and assisting with developing and mentoring team members.
12. Supporting, motivating and coaching colleagues to the benefit of the team and widerpany.
13. Managing ad hoc projects and exercises.
14. Acting as a key member of the pensions administration team, providing support to the assigned team leader.
15. Monitoring, delegating and co-ordinating workflow, reporting regularly to team leader on progress and issue management.
16. Seeking ways of innovating and improving quality, service delivery and efficiencies in processes and procedures.
17. Providing expert advice solutions to pensions queries and pensions consultative advice; keeping abreast of technical and legislative developments within the pensions industry, and providing technical support to more junior staff
18. Working closely with other departments/teams both internal and external to thepany in order to provide a total service to our clients. Pensions Accounts, Payroll, Administration Support.
19. Ensuring the accurate updating of time recording system (OpenAir) for both chargeable and non-chargeable activities and meeting required utilisation targets.
Your profile
Essential Criteria
20. Previous pensions administration experience of Defined Benefit (DB) schemes including leavers, final salary, retirements, deaths, transfers in and transfers out.
21. Defined Contribution pension schemes would be highly desirable.
22. Experience of current pensions legislation and framework.
23. Performplex calculations and checking work of junior colleagues.
24. IT proficient, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
25. Maths and English GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent.
26. Confidentmunicator and problem solver.
27. Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach to work, in particular taking responsibility for personal and technical continuous professional development.
28. An eagerness to take on responsibility and adopt a flexible approach when work pressures are high.
29. Able to see projects/tasks through topletion within given timescales.
30. Great interpersonal and organisational skills.
