Assistant Principal – Inclusion/SENCO
From September 2026, we are seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified Assistant Principal – Inclusion/SENCO who, with the support of the Principal, Academy Leadership Team and the SEN department, will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day operation of the SEN policy, SEN information report and provision made by the school for pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities. The successful candidate will also work closely with staff, parents/carers and other agencies.
Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day operation of the SEN policy, SEN information report and provision for pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities.
* Work closely with staff, parents/carers, and agencies to support pupil progress.
* Identify undiagnosed needs and support students with SEND needs.
* Develop and implement a high‑quality intervention programme.
* Collaborate with SE London and Kent teams to ensure the best possible provision for the most vulnerable students.
* Provide specialist 1:1 sessions and small group support.
* Prepare specialist materials for use in teaching and assessment.
* Model best practice to staff and promote a forward‑thinking approach to raising teaching standards for SEND.
* Support pupils to achieve their full potential in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experienced and qualified school leader with a track record of success at secondary level.
* Motivational and inspirational leader with high expectations of staff.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey a clear vision for the school.
* Ability to develop children to reach their full potential regardless of background or circumstance.
* Approachable and keen to work with staff across the Trust to ensure wide success.
* Skill in establishing and developing excellent relationships with the community and other stakeholders.
* Recent experience of the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Careers related programmes (not essential).
