Here at the Mid Yorkshire Trust, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Radiographer to become a key role within our General X-ray department within Radiology.
We require someone with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills who can continuously improve and help others do so within our department.
This role can be adapted to allow for a transition from a trainee consultant role to a full consultant radiographer role following a period of development and preceptorship, if required.
The post-holder will possess a BSc in Radiography, or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of advanced practice in image reporting. They will provide expert practice in image reporting and contribute to and lead MDT discussions. They will exercise a high degree of professional and personal autonomy, acting as a consultant practitioner with advanced clinical competence, decision-making skills, and a knowledge base beyond conventional advanced practitioner roles, thereby acting as an expert in their field.
The candidate must be self-motivated, possess excellent organisational skills, and be capable of motivating a team of advanced practitioners, working collaboratively with consultant radiographers, patient service managers, and team leaders.
Main duties include:
* Acting as an expert practitioner demonstrating advanced clinical competencies.
* Functioning as an autonomous practitioner responsible for effective care delivery.
* Leading the establishment of standards and guidelines for best practice.
* Participating or leading in clinical multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Working effectively as part of the radiology team and maintaining good knowledge of the Radiology Information System.
