THE TEAM
The Marketing department's strategic objective is to provide marketing, digital and social media support to our Talent Management, Live, TV Production and Distribution divisions. Focusing on campaign planning and management, content creation, reporting and analysis, data management, branding positioning, merchandise and licencing, the aim is to maximise income and outreach for our talent and brands. The vast combined knowledge of our 18-member team contributes to the success of our division and is continuously looking at new and creative ways to enhance our talent and brands' exposure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for overseeing excellent copy across Avalon's marketing and digital content.
* Responsible for developing distinct tone of voice for each client, and creating guidelines for others to adhere to, ensuring quality and consistency.
* Write impactful copy for a wide range of channels including email marketing, digital advertising, social media content, and out of home advertising campaigns.
* Collaborate with the marketing, design and digital teams to thoughtful, integrated creative work.
* Contribute to the development of creative campaigns and support ideation sessions.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
* Write original and engaging copy across a wide range of formats including email marketing, digital advertising, social media content, OOH/print campaigns, merch and client websites.
* Contribute original ideas to ideation sessions, using creativity and strategic thinking to keep our campaigns up to date and effective.
* Attend shows for Avalon's clients, familiarising yourself with Avalon's acts and their individual tones of voice.
* Support the Head of Creative, Marketing in writing strong briefs for design and video projects.
* Collaborate closely with designers, video editors, producers, and managers to ensure tone and messaging are consistent and impactful.
* Support the wider marketing team on email strategy for key acts, writing fresh and engaging copy that will keep audiences engaged, and grow our client's lists.
* Write concise and effective copy for the Avalon Promotions mailing list, keeping subscribers up to date with client news, upcoming shows, and promotions.
* Work with the Head of Creative, Marketing and Ticketing team to create A/B copy tests for digital ads, gaining insights into the efficiency of different copy styles and calls to action.
* Help ensure clients websites are SEO optimized by writing SEO friendly live text pages.
* Improve website SEO by maintaining relevant Wikipedia pages.
ABOUT YOU
* Experience in a copywriting, editorial or content role – internships, freelance or in-house/agency roles considered.
* Excellent written English, with a flair for tone, rhythm and storytelling.
* A love of comedy, television, live entertainment – and the ability to write in a way that feels relevant, witty and fresh.
* Ability to interpret creative briefs and respond with compelling, targeted copy.
* Organised, deadline-driven and comfortable juggling multiple tasks at once.
* Collaborative, curious, and open to feedback.
