We are looking for an experienced and ambitious diagnostic radiographer with excellent communication skills and a strong technical background in Diagnostic Radiography to lead our Plain Film Imaging Service.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing a large team and have good knowledge of governance, risk management, service-relevant key performance indicators and budget management.
The successful candidate will be keen to implement change and embrace the fast paced nature of the industry, demonstrating a high level of resilience and problem solving matched with excellent organisational skills.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for planning and developing a tailored Plain Film Imaging service that meets Radiology Directorate and Trust Targets, and to implement service changes, including the implementation of new equipment and imaging systems. This will require the post holder to have highly developed clinical knowledge and an understanding of a range of work procedures and practices, underpinned by relevant practical and theoretical experience.
To develop the skills of imaging staff to provide and meet the changing service needs in Plain Film Imaging, including development of training and competency programs.
To operationally manage the Plain Film Imaging Departments across all sites, including the out of hours service. The post-holder will liaise with referring Directorates to provide a responsive service in line with the patient needs.
The post-holder will take an active role in risk management and will be responsible for taking the lead in risk management and governance issues in the areas managed.
