Contentious Probate Solicitor
Location: Carmarthen
Salary: Up to £45,000 (DOE)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (initial on-site expectation)
About the Role
A well-established and progressive law firm with a strong regional presence is seeking a Contentious Probate Solicitor (NQ to 2 PQE) to join their growing Inheritance & Trust Disputes team. You will join a team that handles a broad range of contentious probate matters, including challenges to the validity of wills, Inheritance Act 1975 claims, proprietary estoppel, and disputed trusts. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious junior solicitor – whether you’re newly qualified or have a background in litigation or probate – to specialise in a complex and rewarding area of law.
The role will involve:
* Managing a varied caseload of inheritance and trust disputes
* Advising clients on contentious probate and equitable claims
* Attending multiple offices as required (base office: Carmarthen)
* Working closely with colleagues to provide a high level of service
* Building relationships with clients and professional contacts through networking and business development
* Meeting performance targets while maintaining high standards of legal work
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Be a qualified solicitor with NQ to 2 years’ PQE
* Have prior experience in litigation or probate (contentious probate experience desirable but not essential)
* Be highly organised, accurate, and detail-focused
* Possess excellent interpersonal and client care skills
* Be committed to professional development and contributing to the wider team
