About the role This is a permanent, full‑time role working 37 hours per week on a hybrid basis. You’ll work mainly from home, with travel to the office for team meetings and time spent out in the community as needed to support customers. You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive Advice & Support team of 11 colleagues, becoming the fourth welfare benefits specialist in our dedicated expert group. It’s a flexible, people‑focused role where you’ll be well connected, well supported, and empowered to make a real impact. Skills and Experience Needed We’re looking for someone with strong expertise in welfare benefits and a solid track record of supporting customers through complex cases and income‑maximisation work. You’ll bring excellent communication and advocacy skills, confidently negotiating with statutory agencies and representing customers at tribunal hearings. Highly organised and methodical, you’ll manage a varied caseload, work well under pressure, and thrive both independently and as part of a supportive team. Your ability to build positive partnerships—particularly with Local Authorities and the DWP—will be essential, as will your compassionate approach to supporting people facing financial or social challenges. Experience delivering training or presentations is a bonus, and you’ll hold a relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
