PROJECT MANAGER - SOUTHAMPTON
We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to oversee our civil engineering contract at Fawley refinery in Southampton. This senior role involves ensuring the safe, timely, and profitable delivery of projects related to civil engineering, facilities management, and reactive maintenance.
This is a full-time, site-based position working 45 hours weekly, Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, key responsibilities include:
1. Leading and overseeing all live projects at Fawley refinery
2. Managing a team of over 75 personnel
3. Ensuring excellent commercial performance and liaising with the commercial team
4. Collaborating with the SHEQ team to promote safety, environmental compliance, and quality standards
5. Reviewing upcoming work and coordinating with the bid team on tenders
6. Participating in progress meetings
7. Managing project programmes in partnership with the Planning team
8. Conducting regular site visits to uphold safety and quality standards
9. Providing leadership in problem-solving and people management
10. Driving change and continuous improvement
11. Engaging with clients through regular meetings and reporting project progress and timelines
12. Representing Trant at union meetings and working collaboratively with unions
13. Ensuring projects adhere to contractual obligations in close cooperation with the commercial team
Skills, knowledge & qualifications required:
* BEng or HND in Civil Engineering
* CSCS certification
* Experience delivering civil engineering projects within Oil & Gas or Petrochem sectors
* Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of working effectively across all levels
