Junior content producer

Brighton
Eequ
Content producer
£15,000 - £25,000 a year

Offer description

About the Role

We are looking for an aspiring content producer & editor "Predator" who can support both personal brand content and Eequ's company channels. This is not a pure "social media marketer" role—it is hands-on creative production. The ideal candidate has an eye for aesthetics, strong practical editing/filming skills, and an instinct for what makes content engaging.

The role is experimental: we will shape it around the person's strongest creative abilities while testing how it supports our content pipeline.

This amazing opportunity is ideal for an ambitious student or individual wanting to commit to a part time project that allows them to flex their existing talents in a professional arena.

About You

You have consumed a million miles of the internet and grew up on Tumblr, Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram. You understand humour, aesthetics, tone, and timing because you were raised by social media. You probably already make content for yourself or your friends, whether that's TikToks, memes, edits, or short films.

You're arty by instinct—maybe you draw, take photos, edit clips, or just know when something looks good. You've got an eye for detail and you can tell the difference between tacky and aesthetic without being told. You might be an English, media, art, or film student—or you might just be someone who has learned all this from creating online.

You're practical, hands-on, and not precious about grunt work. You like experimenting, trying new editing tricks, or playing with transitions. You're curious about trends and platform culture, and you can explain why something belongs on TikTok but wouldn't land on LinkedIn.

You're not expected to be a polished professional. You don't need Adobe mastery or years of work experience. What matters is that you're obsessed enough with social media and creative production that making content feels natural to you.

What You'll Be Doing

Your week will involve a mix of:

* Filming on iPhone—capturing creative shots, transitions, and fly-on-the-wall clips.
* Editing in CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro—nothing corporate, just fast, engaging social media edits.
* Designing simple graphics in Canva or AI tools like DALL·E.
* Writing short scripts, captions, and copy with a strong tone of voice.
* Posting and managing accounts across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
* Researching trends—spotting what works, analysing competitor content, and summarising it in a usable way.
* Experimenting—trying out new formats, transitions, or creative techniques.

The Skills You'll Need

* A strong eye for aesthetics—whether that comes from art, film, illustration, or just having a good Insta feed.
* Basic editing ability in any video tool (CapCut, DaVinci, Final Cut, etc.).
* Comfort with filming on iPhone and knowing how to make shots look good.
* Curiosity about platform culture (TikTok vs Instagram vs LinkedIn) and why content feels different in each.
* Confidence in writing short, clear, engaging copy.

Why This Job is Different

Most entry-level "social media" jobs either bury you in admin or expect you to run paid ads. This role is different:

* You'll get real mentorship. You'll work directly with an established social media creator and learn what it takes to make content scroll-stopping.
* You'll build a portfolio. Every week you'll be making videos, posts, and designs you can point to and say: I did that.
* You'll experiment. We see this as a 3–6 month experiment. If it works, it could evolve into a full-time creative producer role after graduation. If it doesn't, you'll leave with practical skills and a body of work that employers care about.
* You'll be fed. Free lunches, always.

Who This Suits

* A student studying art, film, media, design, English, or anything creative.
* Someone who already makes TikToks, edits videos, or runs a small personal account and wants to level up.
* Someone who consumes a lot of social media on different channels.
* Someone who wants to become a producer/editor and is happy doing the hands-on grunt work to get there.

How to Apply

We're not looking for polished CVs. Instead, show us what you can do:

* Create one short post you've made that shows your skills. It doesn't need to be about Eequ. It doesn't need to be long.
* A quick example of what kind of content works best on TikTok vs Instagram, and why.
* Show us the funniest post on the internet.
* Show us one thing that is trending.
* Wrap these answers up into some kind of mini presentation using a tool of your choice.
* Complete the Typeform application linked below and add a link to your presentation on the last page.
