Pharmacy Technician
The Cherwell Hospital - Banbury
Full Time - 37.5 hours
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join The Cherwell Hospital. The successful candidate will work within a team of Pharmacists and Technicians providing support to the wider hospital team and patients.
The role
In this role, you will be an integral part of a team committed to delivering high-quality clinical outcomes in a supportive environment, where your skills and expertise will be valued. Your responsibilities will include:
* Procurement of medicines and medical devices, including unlicensed medicines
* Maintaining high standards of stock control and rotation
* Supervising daily stock level and expiry checks, and making necessary adjustments
* Managing medicines invoicing according to Ramsay Guidelines
* Supporting staff development and training, and helping to implement innovative processes
* Assisting with medicines reconciliation
* Supporting audits for the pharmacy and hospital teams
* Providing ad hoc support to the sister hospital in Milton Keynes
* Supervising controlled drugs checks and reporting discrepancies
* Reporting drug-related clinical incidents
* Developing and updating pharmacy procedures
Qualifications and criteria:
* NVQ3, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician
* Open to candidates from hospital, community, or other pharmacy sectors seeking new experiences
* Strong communication skills, patient-focused
* Effective team player and independent worker
* Flexible and adaptable
* Decision-making ability and initiative
* Passion for delivering excellent care
* Full Driving License and ability to commute to Ramsay sites
