Job Summary/Purpose
The focus of this position is to deliver real options in the form of power generation and energy storage projects that support the corporation’s stated sustainability goals of reducing carbon emissions. The role supports the development of large projects or programs, manages delivery of projects and/or programs assigned, and ensures project cost and schedule objectives are met while achieving excellence in safety and quality. The manager is directly responsible for the management and oversight of execution stages of utility‑scale renewable project execution, leading a cross‑functional team, building relationships with key internal and external partners including contractors, and managing risk.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Develop and lead a project execution team focused on delivering power generation and storage projects safely, enabling the enterprise to meet sustainability commitments.
Lead the team to execute the project in accordance with corporate standards, ensuring roles are fulfilled and navigating the Entergy Stage Gate process. Support project development activities such as business case creation, estimates, schedules, gate review deliverables, and internal approvals.
Maintain the Project Execution Plan and project documentation, incorporate lessons learned and industry experience, and manage the project in line with budget, scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts, and communications per corporate standards.
Provide clear, timely, and accurate project status reports to management, preparing presentations and making prompt decisions on project issues that could impact performance, and communicating risks and issues to leadership.
Support utility and regulators in project development and viability when requested, working closely with regulatory functions to obtain necessary certifications.
Understand contract aspects of projects, support creation of a contracting strategy, manage contracts safely and effectively, and fulfill contract‑management duties during execution.
Promote safe behavior in accordance with company expectations and safety rules on the project. Support enterprise‑wide inclusion and belonging initiatives across the project team.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred.
Experience: 8+ years in project management within the energy sector.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expert in project management fundamentals, application of engineering science to power generation, design, construction, commissioning, and operations of electrical power facilities, material and tool knowledge, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
