Role
Working closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and associated clerical staff, the Patient Pathway Tracker will be responsible for ensuring the timely and planned movement of cancer and suspected cancer patients through their journey from referral onwards.
They will coordinate and monitor the investigation and treatment journey for urgent patients, ensuring delays are pre-empted and resolved to enable the patients to receive treatment in line with national targets and to meet NHS Cancer Waiting Time targets.
Qualifications
* HND in Business Administration or equivalent experience
* Minimum 3 years administration experience within a hospital setting
* Proficiency in using software systems
* Advanced keyboard skills
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Track record of ability to prioritise and problem solve
* A driving licence is required; must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence
It would be great if you also have:
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Understanding of the importance of data quality
* Knowledge of cancer waiting times standards
* Proficiency in the use of hospital systems including Trakcare
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Thorough and meticulous attention to detail
Contract & Location
Permanent, part‑time, 18.5 hours per week. The salary will be pro‑rata.
The role will be based in Cancer Services within University Hospital Wishaw, although shortlisted candidates may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
