We have a fantastic new job opportunity to join a growing contracts teams for a Fire Sprinkler Mechanical Design Engineerwho is proficient in AutoCAD, design checklists, documentation processes and designing automatic sprinkler systems.
Working as a Fire Sprinkler Mechanical Design Engineeryou will be responsible for designing automatic sprinkler systems in line with industry standards and company expectations.
This is a ‘hands-on’ role and as a Fire Sprinkler Mechanical Design Engineeryou will be required to visit sites, collaborate with multiple departments, with a commitment to quality and safety.
DUTIES
Your duties as a Fire Sprinkler Mechanical Design Engineerwill include:
1. Designing and developing sprinkler systems in accordance with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, and FM Global standards
2. Producing and reviewing detailed design drawings and hydraulic calculations, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and company standards
3. Attending contract handover meetings, conduct site checks to verify pipe routes and avoid clashes, and collaborate with the Design Manager to resolve any design issues
4. Preparing and issuing final construction drawings to relevant stakeholders, produce “As Fitted” drawings throughout the contract, and support other departments to drive continuous improvement and contribute to overall business operations
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
5. Experience in designing automatic sprinkler systems
6. Knowledge of LPC/BS EN 12845, NFPA, FM Global Datasheets, and FHC rules
7. Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and work towards LPCB design qualifications
8. Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with design checklists and documentation processes
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills
10. Willingness to attend training and participate in company meetings and projects
11. Valid UK driving licence
