Our Yeovil client, a leading global aerospace organisation, is seeking an experienced Aerospace Systems Project Engineer to join them on a contract basis. You will be responsible for supporting and delivering complex engineering projects across multiple aerospace domains, including Environmental Control Systems, Hydraulics, and Life Support Systems. This role offers the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team on high-impact programmes, contributing to the design, integration, and delivery of mission-critical systems. Role: Aerospace Systems Project Engineer - Contract Location: Yeovil, Somerset Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday-Friday (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH - subject to business discretion) Rate: £35-£45 per hour PAYE only (plus holiday pay) Security Clearance: BPSS vetting, Drug Screening, and DBS check required Please note - We are only able to consider UK or NATO country passport holders due to the nature of the work. The company is a recognised leader in aerospace innovation, providing integrated avionics, engines, and system solutions for aircraft manufacturers, airlines, business aviation, military, space, and airport operations. The Yeovil site focuses on Engineering & Technology, Integrated Supply Chain operations, and specialises in key product lines such as ECS, LSS, hydraulics systems, and control/data systems. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and key milestones using earned value metrics. Track progress against plans and ensure timely delivery of work packages and project outputs. Coordinate internal suppliers to maintain technical and schedule adherence. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure delivery of projects within defined cost, quality, and time parameters. Lead requirements management, including validation and allocation. Organise and chair design reviews. Identify and manage project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies. Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven experience in a project engineering role within aerospace or a similar complex engineering environment. Strong understanding of the full engineering lifecycle, from concept through to delivery. Proficient in project planning tools such as Microsoft Project or similar. Solid knowledge of working with suppliers and integrated supply chains. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Qualifications: HND/HNC or Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent). PRINCE2 certification or similar project management qualification is advantageous.
