Business Finance Support Officer

Contract: Temp to Perm
Hours: 20–24 hours per week (flexible within office hours)
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and detail‑oriented Business Finance Support Officer to join our client’s team within the grounds maintenance and arboriculture industry. The ideal candidate will assist in managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of our accounts and supporting the overall financial operations of the contract.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform data entry tasks related to financial transactions and maintain organised records.
* Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft to manage financial information effectively.
* Support month‑end closing activities by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
* Collaborate with team members to reconcile discrepancies in financial statements.
* Maintain filing systems for financial documents, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
* Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts as required by the finance team.
* Provide support for audits by gathering necessary documentation and responding to queries.
* Support operational management team with internal financial processes.
* Reconcile month‑end finances and raise accurate invoices.
* Complete month‑end accounts for local depot and report through the head office.
Requirements
* Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of financial services and accounting principles.
* Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
