We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and flexible individual to work within Café Leep. The ideal candidate will possess a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanour, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within the café team.

Café LEEP is a social enterprise which employs a qualified café manager with a staff team of adults with learning disabilities who are training for their catering qualifications. The role of the support worker will involve closely collaborating with the café manager and staff team, with a primary focus on facilitating the development of catering skills among the trainees. Café Leep is part of The Advonet Group.

About us:

The Advonet Group values and respects the diversity of backgrounds, experiences and knowledge that staff, volunteers and job applicants bring. All our staff undertake mandatory training on both Equality and Diversity and LGBTQ+ Awareness to increase awareness and understanding of discrimination both in and out of the workplace, with a view to reduce the impact this has on our colleagues and the wider community. This creates a workplace where staff feel comfortable to be themselves and empowers them, and our service users, to use their unique experiences to inform their work.

Benefits of working with us:

1. Up to 31 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
2. Access to a cashback health plan and Employee Support scheme
3. Free parking near the city centre
4. Flexible and remote working
5. Welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment

Values:

6. Independence and Empowerment: Support and challenge ourselves and others, ensuring resources are accessible to all.
7. Integrity: Be open, honest, and accountable.
8. Equality and Diversity: Promote inclusivity and ensure everyone has an equal voice.

You will have:

9. Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities.
10. Proficiency in handling sensitive and personal information, with a solid understanding of data protection laws.
11. Experience in empowering individuals with learning disabilities to voice their thoughts and concerns.
12. Prior exposure to working in a catering environment.
13. Background in the Voluntary Sector, whether through paid employment or volunteering.

We are looking for someone with energy, vision and commitment to our values of Independence & Empowerment, Integrity, Equality and Diversity. We are particularly keen to encourage volunteers and other supporters who are already enthusiasts of Leep1 to develop within the organisation.

The role is based at our cafe on Roundhay Road on the outskirts of the City Centre.

The above post is not a Leeds City Council vacancy and has been advertised on behalf of the relevant organisation.
