We're GEEIQ (pronounced like ‘Geek') and we’re a data platform and insights provider that’s used by the likes of Gucci, Walmart, L’Oreal and Porsche to navigate and engage virtual worlds. Think Ralph Lauren in Fortnite, or Elton John in Roblox.
We believe that the metaverse hype is over and that brands demand more than just good press when it comes to activating in these spaces, they need to be able to measure, attribute and identify tangible revenue opportunities. That’s where our platform comes in.
Our Marketing & Communications team
Our Marketing & Communications team plays a crucial role in spreading the word about GEEIQ’s platform and services.
As a start-up growing in a noisy space, our team’s mission is to attract brands of every shape and size to use our platform and to build and scale their virtual strategies with us. That’s why we’re looking for a Content & PR expert who can generate demand for GEEIQ through great content, while owning our press relationships and ensuring our insights are spread far and wide.
What you’ll do
You’ll be writing great content, delivering insights to press and forging new media partnerships to help GEEIQ in its mission to become the single source of truth for brands activating in virtual worlds.
* With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will produce relevant written content about GEEIQ, the work we do with our subscribers, and the wider industry, in the form of blogs, reports, case studies and whitepapers.
* Confident and comfortable in managing relationships, you’ll be responsible for maintaining relations with GEEIQ’s press partners, including Vogue Business, Digiday, The Times and The Business of Fashion.
* Passionate about news and social trends, you’ll be identifying interesting data points from GEEIQ’s platform to create content that’s timely, topical and relevant to our target audience.
* Driven by growth, you’ll be sharing GEEIQ content far and wide with relevant publications to build and maintain new relationships, ensuring that when brands in virtual worlds are being spoken about, GEEIQ is part of the conversation.
* Always looking to provide a unique perspective, you’ll be pitching data-driven stories and content ideas about brands in virtual worlds to our existing media network and potential new press partners.
* A keen collaborator, you’ll be working with the PR and communications teams of our customers to help create press releases, case studies and social media posts highlighting their new virtual activations and campaigns.
What you need to succeed in this role
* PR experience, preferably in SaaS or technology, and advanced writing skills.
* Experience in managing journalists and press relationships, with a history of creating or identifying a great story and getting it in front of press.
* A love for PR, communicating, and relationship building, with a desire to hone your skills and make your mark in a small, faced-paced team.
* An understanding of the advertising space and the marketing industry. It might sound obvious, but you’ll be creating content and promoting stories aimed at marketers!
* An ability to take complex messages and make them digestible for a wider audience not familiar with our brand and offering.
* An interest in understanding the needs and pain points of our ideal customer profile and a passion for creating the right content to address these.
* As a custodian of the GEEIQ brand, you will need a creative eye and the ability to identify room for improvement when it comes to marketing content and assets.
