Duties & Responsibilities:
* Supervising a fast paced team, responsible for the safe and efficient handling of containers to and from both road and rail vehicles
* Ensures company standards and ways of working are followed throughout
* Ensures health and safety standards are met throughout.
* Liaises with customers, freight operating companies and internal departments to ensure requirements are met
* Undertakes periodic reporting and checks
* Potential for future development within the company
What we're looking for:
* Self-motivated individual with effective leadership and team-building skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary
* Attention to details in all aspects of work
* IT Literate (good knowledge of Excel would be an advantage)
* Previous experience of operating forklift trucks or heavier container handling equipment
* Previous experience in container terminal, rail terminal or port operations desired but not essential
