Faculty
The School of Optometry and Vision Science has launched a new four‑year undergraduate Masters in Optometry to replace the current three‑year Bachelor’s course.
Role Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us as Lecturers (Grade 9) in Optometry. This role will contribute to the implementation of both academic research and our new teaching and learning strategy. Candidates should have clinical and academic expertise and a track record of research in Optometry and related topics. The position may be considered for a job share (0.5/0.6 FTE).
Responsibilities
* Undertake research‑informed teaching and teaching‑related activities, in agreement with the Head of Department.
* Plan, deliver, and assess innovative, engaging, and challenging teaching activities that provide a distinctive and exceptional student experience.
* Ensure teaching is research‑led with subject content underpinned by relevant specialist research.
Qualifications & Experience
* PhD (or equivalent) in Optometry, or a relevant subject area.
* Honours degree (or equivalent) in Optometry.
* Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice, or commitment to obtaining this following appointment.
