Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation?
We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll work with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and Industry to deliver significant changes as we reform legislation. You can make a difference.
You’ll need to be adaptable, self-motivated, and able to translate policy into action.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Working closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams including Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, with support to other workstreams as needed.
2. Providing technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
3. Driving reforms to waste management in England, working with like-minded individuals to shape digital systems and policies.
We operate as a dispersed team, collaborating with various technical and project teams nationwide. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.

You will join our Producer Responsibility Team, which leads waste regulation reform to conserve resources and minimize waste.

Experience/Skills Required

* Risk-based decision-making skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Knowledge of environmental legislation, especially waste management laws.
