The Position
Are you a passionate and flexible podiatrist looking for a unique opportunity to support a small, dedicated team in a remote and rural setting?
NHS Orkney is seeking a Relief Podiatrist to join our friendly and committed team on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a real difference in a close-knit island community.
You will provide high-quality podiatric care across a range of clinical areas, including:
Management of high-risk foot conditions/ foot protection
MSK and general podiatry
Hospital ,Clinical, Community-based and domiciliary care
Support for active foot disease, wound care and preventative services
You'll work closely with our small team of experienced podiatrists and wider Healthcare Professional colleagues, contributing to a service that is evolving to meet the needs of our population through innovation, digital tools, and integrated care.
The Candidate
Candidates will be expected to possess the following:
HCPC-registered podiatrist
Experience in general or specialist podiatry (Band 6 desirable)
Full UK Driving licence
Ability to work independently and flexibly
A team player with excellent communication skills
Willingness to travel across Orkney

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.
Benefits And Salary
Did you know NHS Scotland salaries are higher than those in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland?
The salary for this post is
Band 6 £41,608 - £50,702
and if residing on Orkney, you'll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,654 pro rata per annum, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
