Overview
The salaried GP will be responsible for delivering the full range of primary care services as part of the practice, ensuring the highest standards of care for the differing needs of our patient population. The salaried GP will work closely with the practice’s multi-disciplinary team of GPs, nurses and non-clinical staff to provide a high quality and accessible service to patients, undertaking the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Responsibilities
* In accordance with the practice timetable, undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, develop care plans for health.
* Provide counselling and health education.
* Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
* Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

We are a well-established semi-rural surgery with a list size of over 20,000. We usually achieve full QOF points and have been awarded the RCGP Quality Practice Award twice.
Benefits & Salary
* Salary £85,000 - £95,000 FTE, based on 9 sessions (8 clinical and 1 CPD) per week
* 6 weeks annual leave per year plus CPD pro-rata in line with BMA model contract
