Job responsibilities Responsible for faxing and photocopying as identified by the appropriate member of staff, which may include confidential or sensitive information, ensuring any confidential material not required is disposed of correctly. Attend departmental meetings as appropriate. Provide non-clinical information or guidance to patients/relatives. Distribute/redirect as required clinical and patient correspondence. Communicate with and promote good working relationships with medical, midwifery, other health professionals and outside agencies or tertiary hospitals as appropriate, helping and dealing with enquiries orally, written and electronically. Liaise with other departments e.g. Radiology to check scanning appointment times, Physiotherapy, ECG department and many more. Liaise with Consultants/Medical Staff/Midwifery staff regarding DNA & UTA guidelines. Liaise with Medical staff/Clinic staff regarding clinic availability slots. Support Multi-disciplinary working, liaising with outside agencies, medical staff and management. Check rotas to ensure rescheduling of clinics where appropriate. Ensure the provision of accurate statistical data and other information in accordance with the statutory requirements. Assist with general clerical duties as necessary including receiving, delivering and sorting mail. Attend education and training activities in line with Departmental and Organisational objectives as agreed. Take responsibility for personal development and education. Participate in the PADR process both as an individual and being responsible for the completion of PADRs for specific staff under the Manager. Maintain high-level of operational understanding of Health Board Policies to ensure consistent and appropriate application at all times. Personal duty of care for the safe use of equipment.
