Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to develop or broaden your expertise within rehabilitation? The Alderney Inpatient Therapy team would like to hear from you!
The Therapy Team provides rehabilitation for patients at Alderney Hospital and the D2A beds at Figbury Lodge Care Home. You will manage a caseload of patients for assessment and rehabilitation, aiming to optimize function and support their transition back home. The patient cohort offers experience working with various pathologies including orthopaedics, frailty, amputees, Parkinson's disease, and neurological conditions. You will work closely with MDT colleagues and the wider therapy team to complete assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
You will supervise therapy assistants, Band 5 therapists, and students in practice. This is a great opportunity to develop managerial skills and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. You can also progress your own development and expertise.
This is a 12-month fixed-term/secondment role of 25 hours per week. We are flexible regarding how hours are met; further discussion can occur at interview. A valid driver's license and access to a car are essential for this role.
This role is fixed-term, and for NHS employees, it will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on secondment before applying.

Responsibilities include managing a caseload, providing assessments and interventions, conducting home visits, and equipment provision with relevant risk assessments and care plans. A good knowledge of moving and handling principles and equipment is essential.
You will provide OT interventions and case management at Alderney Community Hospital and Figbury Lodge Care Home, utilizing the D2A process for community care referrals. Please refer to the job description and personal specification for additional duties.
Bank holiday and weekend work are required on a rota basis, approximately one weekend day every 4 to 6 weeks.
An Enhanced DBS check is required, which the Trust will cover. Applicants subscribing to the DBS update service can present a valid certificate instead of a new check.
