We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and drivenFleet and Plant - Transport Managerto join our Fleet and Plant team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of our fleet operations, ensuring compliance, safety, and performance standards are upheld across plant machinery and vehicles.
The Role
As Transport Manager, you will lead the operational management of a diverse vehicle and plant fleet, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including the Operators Licence. Youll drive improvements in fleet performance, safety, and cost efficiency, supporting our contracts and operational teams across the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure full compliance with PUWER, LOLER, and transport regulations, including OCRS and tachograph laws.
2. Manage vehicle allocation, hiring/off-hiring, inspections, and maintenance.
3. Oversee a robust Vehicle Husbandry Plan and plant tracking processes.
4. Coordinate training, toolbox talks, and ensure qualifications (Driver CPC, licenses) are up to date.
5. Deliver event planning, inspection schedules, and compliance tracking.
6. Lead incident resolution and accident management processes.
7. Monitor performance, budget efficiency, and escalate risks or opportunities.
