Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong track record of delivering projects within UK Government environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in gathering, analysing, and validating business requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and government standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements.
* Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder sessions to capture needs and expectations.
* Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories.
* Analyse processes, systems, and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
* Support solution design, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with government frameworks.
* Assist in defining acceptance criteria and support testing activities.
* Ensure documentation and outputs comply with Cabinet Office and departmental standards.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, developers, testers, and architects.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst within UK Government or public sector projects.
* Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Experience working within Agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban).
* Ability to produce high-quality documentation: requirements, user stories, process maps, use cases, and business process models.
* Knowledge of GDS (Government Digital Service) principles and standards.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience working on large-scale digital transformation projects in government.
* Familiarity with data-driven projects, systems integration, or legacy system replacement.
* Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent.
* Understanding of security, compliance, and data protection requirements in government.
