What you’ll be doing: In this role, you’ll be supporting people across four supported living services in the beautiful area of Builth Wells—three right in the town and one in the nearby village of Aberedw. Each person you support has their own unique routines and preferences, and you'll play a central role in helping them shape their daily lives, from small choices to big decisions. You’ll be supporting individuals to do the things they love, whether that’s heading out for a meal at a local café, getting involved in dance, music or arts sessions, spending time with friends and family, or enjoying physical activities like swimming and local sports. Some of the people you’ll support also enjoy attending larger events and activities outside of Builth, so being able to drive is essential for this role to help them get where they want to go safely and comfortably. The support you offer will be practical, respectful, and tailored to each person’s needs. While personal care is involved in some services, your support will always be delivered with dignity and kindness. Two of the services include manual handling, and one of these supports individuals with behaviours that require positive behaviour management. You’ll be part of a trained and supportive team that uses a positive, person-centred approach in every interaction. The settings themselves are homely and community-focused. You’ll work within small team environments, building real relationships with the people you support and with your colleagues.
