You will play a pivotal role in aligning the site’s operations with GSK’s global sustainability goals, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, and ensuring compliance with sustainability-related regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities Sustainability Strategy Implementation: Lead the development and execution of the site’s sustainability roadmap in alignment with GSK’s global sustainability strategy. Develop and implement site-specific initiatives to meet GSK's environmental goals, including energy efficiency, carbon reduction, water conservation, and waste minimization targets. Data Management and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report site sustainability metrics, including energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and waste generation. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sustainability data to internal stakeholders and external regulators. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement based on data insights. Operational Leadership: Partner with site operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to integrate sustainability practices into day-to-day processes. Drive operational changes to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and transition to renewable energy sources. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Act as the primary sustainability point of contact for the site, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives. Collaborate with GSK’s global and regional sustainability teams to align site efforts with broader company objectives. Build partnerships with local organizations, NGOs, or government bodies to support community-based sustainability projects. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, including permits, audits, and certifications. Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts from site operations. Training and Awareness: Lead sustainability awareness campaigns and training programs to build a culture of environmental responsibility across the site. Educate employees and contractors on sustainability best practices and GSK’s environmental goals. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement innovative sustainability solutions, leveraging new technologies and best practices from within and outside the industry. Benchmark site performance against industry standards and identify opportunities for leadership in sustainability. Basic Qualifications and Skills: To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field. Considerable and proven experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related roles in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong understanding of environmental regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements. Demonstrated experience in implementing energy efficiency, waste management, and water conservation programs. Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and sustainability metrics (e.g., carbon footprint, energy intensity). Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Proactive problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset. Preferred Qualifications and Skills: The following qualifications and skills would be advantageous: Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. Professional certifications such as LEED, ISO 14001, or similar. Experience working in the pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, or related industries. Familiarity with circular economy principles and renewable energy technologies. Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, TCFD). Knowledge of GSK’s environmental goals and sustainability initiatives. Proven ability to influence organizational change and build a culture of sustainability.
