Jaguar's reputation for performance, technology and design was forged within the world's most challenging circuits and championships. Our partners all work at the cutting-edge of technology and share an understanding that progress, courage and innovation enable us to achieve our on-track goals.
We design, develop & manufacture the Jaguar Formula E racing car and run it in the FIA Formula E World Championship. We were world champions in 2024, and this was only possible due to the knowledge, talent and commitment of our people.
We operate a 12-month (September August 2027) student placement programme within the Vehicle Performance team. This is an exciting opportunity where you will work with highly skilled and experienced engineering professionals and graduates who you can learn and develop with - the more questions you ask the more you will gain from your experience. It is important to know that many of our industrial placements have been successful in obtaining graduate roles on completion of their degree.
To be eligible for an industrial placement within our Formula E Vehicle Performance team you should be working towards a STEM degree including but not limited to, Mathematics, Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics or Motorsport Engineering. An understanding of vehicle dynamics, control systems (including optimal control), mathematical modelling and programming (MATLAB, Python, JavaScript, C#, C, C++ and OOP) would be advantageous.
Fundamentally, our mission is to make the car go faster and score points. During the placement you will take on responsibilities such as:
* Analysis of car, rig, simulator & model data to unlock performance potential in current & future cars
* The analysis of race data whilst working with the strategists in order to maximise our decision making and find the optimal strategies for the races.
* Being part of the Ops Room (mission control) where you will be supporting the race team at the track.
* Developing software tools and models in order to make processes and analysis more automatic.
* Contributing towards our pre-event and post-event analyses of car, tyre, systems, & strategy performance.
All applications should be submitted via the advert on the Jaguar TCS Racing LinkedIn page. When applying for industrial placements opportunities, all students are expected to submit a covering letter along with a Curriculum Vitae containing the following information:
* Your current career aims and how you plan to achieve them.
* Subjects that you are currently taking and plan to take, along with relevant exam results.
* Demonstrable passion for motorsport and innovation.
* Why work experience would be beneficial to you.
* Why you would be suitable for the role.
We'll provide:
* Training to add to your existing skills and accelerate your career.
* A supportive and empowering work environment
* On-site Gym
* 25 days holiday
Application deadline:
The closing date for applications is 31st October 2025.
