Job Overview

If you are interested in working with individuals with mental health difficulties, seeking a potential career change, enjoy working as part of a team, and can use your initiative, then this could be the role for you.

We are looking for a highly motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the community mental health Occupational Therapy team in Tendring.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the Community Mental Health Occupational Therapy team, working as an integral part of the wider Tendring Specialist Community Mental Health team. Guided by senior OT team members, you will support the delivery of specific treatment interventions to clients, either individually or in groups. You will have opportunities to work with clients in their homes, within the community, remotely, and at the team base.

You will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in mental health and learn about specific approaches and management of certain conditions.

Working for our organisation

EPUT values Care, Learn, and Empower. We offer a range of benefits and development opportunities, including:

* Season Ticket Loans
* NHS staff discounts
* Training facilities and opportunities
* Buying and Selling annual leave scheme
* Opportunity to work bank shifts and expand experience
* Salary Sacrifice schemes including lease cars and Cycle to Work
* Day One Flexible Employer

We support flexible working and encourage you to discuss options with the recruiting manager. You can apply for flexible working from day one of employment.

Join our Staff bank

Our NHS staff bank hires clinical and non-clinical professionals for shifts at our hospitals and community settings. All permanent staff are enrolled automatically, with options to work additional shifts if desired. When applying, include professional references covering the last three years of employment. Initial DBS check costs are deducted from your first salary.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer, especially welcoming applications from those with mental health experience and individuals with disabilities. For accessible application formats, contact the Recruitment Department at 01375 364513 or epunft.recruitment.adverts@nhs.net.

The Trust may expire vacancies before the closing date. Please check your email regularly; if you haven't heard within three weeks of closing, your application may be unsuccessful.

We are committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults, with robust recruitment processes. Due to recent regulations, COVID vaccinations are required for roles in care settings unless exempted. This requirement will be part of pre-employment checks.

Staff at risk will be prioritized for alternative employment, and posts deemed 'suitable alternative employment' may be withdrawn if applicable.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Applications should be written by the applicant. Use of AI programs may lead to application rejection, although support for disabilities is permitted.
