Hey, hey, heyyy
This isn't going to be your usual job ad
So, we could write all the cliché things, we want you to be passionate, we want you to be hard working and work well as a team, be a good hairdresser.
Boring lol
Those things are a standard, if you don't love hair or take real pride in your craft, keep scrolling, this isn't the salon for you.
We're looking for someone with that extra special something, that has the want and drive to become extraordinary.
We're a small salon with big dreams, big ideals, high expectations and some big personalities.
We love hair, like seriously. Scrolling through hair reels at 1am kinda love.
Jason, our Salon Director has 20 years in the industry, including time at some of the UK's most illustrious companies. He started off as an apprentice and completed his NVQ education at the world renowned Toni&Guy Academy in central London, hes gone on to become a L'Oreal Colour Specialist and Wella Colour Master, the highest level of education offered by both colour houses. Working both in Central London and in the Greater London area. He was also a Technical Educator for HOB Salons, where he was first a Colour Director at one of their salons, he went on to teach at their academy in Camden. Teaching courses, seminars and being involved with their creative team at photo shoots, industry events like Salon International and other shows. He also taught NVQ at HOB's in-house Apprenticeship Academy and guess what... he's STILL in pursuit of knowledge.
Still learning, still growing.
Education is key to growth and its at the forefront of what we do. We're not just talking about going on courses. We learn from each other every day, we grow together, every day.
If we don't learn, we stagnate.
"Same again?"
BORING.
You're not boring, are you?
Didn't think so
Now let's get on to the 'Job Description'
Were looking for an all round Stylist, someone ideally with 2 years of qualified, shop floor experience.
We are a very busy salon with a diverse clientele, so you will need to be comfortable, knowledgeable and be able to slay all current looks and trends as well as the classics.
We have a strong culture for rebooking, referrals and targets.
Things we monitor to get you successful and making money are;
Service Value
Retail Value
Average Bill
Client Count
Rebooking Percentage
You will be expected to get your clients booked back and you'll have weekly targets to show us just how well you're getting on.
Fear not, we will always guide you and help you grow if there are areas that you need improving.
Our salon uses Wella colour, Davines and Label M back bar and styling products.
If you've not used those before, its all good. Our Salon Director is a 'Wella Colour Master' and LOVES Davines and Label M, so he and the rest of the team will show you the ropes. 'Colour Theory' and 'Product Knowledge' sessions can be organised if needed.
The position is Full Time including one late night and Saturdays.
Have a check on out website to see our opening and closing times.
You will be working on clients one at a time, so no double bookings. This will allow you to see your client journey through from start to finish.
As we've said before, we love a bit of education, so if there's any courses with any educators you would LOVE to do, then we will always look at how we can make it happen
You will also have a deep dive into the Tierney Salons Foundations, seeing our methods for all things cut, colour and styling and client care. Which you will be expected to learn and adopt into your way of working.
2 of our stylists cant accept new clients because they're booked up months snd months in advance and our newest stylist, who's been with us 5 months is already hitting commision and fully booked most days
We are a nurturing group, we will always want anyone that joins us to succeed and be the best version of themselves. We build each other up and support one another.
A bit about us…
The salon was opened July 2019.
We have a fantastic team, Salon Director Jason, Level 3 Stylist Chloe, Level 2 Stylist Beth, Level 1 Stylist Lottie and our Apprentice Abbie.
We laugh, we joke, we get the job done and we get it done well.
We are professional but in a relaxed, friendly and fun environment.
Our clients love how warm and welcoming we are and we always get complimented on the environment and atmosphere.
If it's a 'meh' or 'not sure' then we're probably not the salon for you.
If you're liking what you've read and you're thinking of applying, we're exited to hear from you
Please, please, please when you contact us, send us your hair Instagram page or if you don't have one, we would like you to send us a good selection of before and after photos of your work.
There will be an interview either face to face or via video call and if that goes well, you will come in the salon for a trade test and do some hair for us, so we can see what you're all about
How exciting
We can't wait to hear from you
