Lecturer – Senior Lecturer (ILP Coordinator) – Port Macquarie
Join UNSW Rural (Port Macquarie campus) to collaborate in delivering world‑class medical education to rural and regional Australia. The role focuses on developing and maintaining the Independent Learning Project (ILP) program at the campus, ensuring alignment with RHMT goals, and providing hands‑on research experience to undergraduate medical students.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate, support and guide students studying their ILP, including supervision, teaching, mentoring, reviews, theses, presentations, coursework and final reports.
* Provide support in local hospital and clinical environments for ILP and other rural research projects, including design, governance, research skill development, ethics applications and approvals.
* Engage and collaborate with PHN, AMS, local health and community networks, building productive partnerships and identifying and submitting funding applications where appropriate.
* Contribute to the development, improvement and maintenance of the RHMT Research Plan, rural research framework, workforce retention strategies, methodologies and data analysis.
* For Senior Lecturer (Level C): offer high‑level coordination and administration, expert advice to students and staff, support and mentor students and supervisors in research design, ethics, statistical analysis, and publication; demonstrate expertise within a relevant sub‑disciplinary area and experience in rurally based research.
Qualifications & Experience
* A Fellow of a Specialist Medical College and/or a post‑graduate degree in a relevant field with experience in a medical/health environment, or an equivalent professional qualification.
* Experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students with a strong commitment to rurally focused health and research projects.
* Demonstrated interest and experience in rural health projects and research, including grant submissions.
