Job Summary
Maintaining high standards of hygiene through tasks such as vacuuming, mopping floors, sanitising surfaces, managing waste and restocking supplies. The role requires strict adherence to infection control policies and health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff alike.
Main duties of the job
* Cleaning hard and soft floor surfaces, toilets, kitchen areas, telephony and computer equipment by appropriate methods.
* Collecting and bagging general and clinical waste and preparing it for disposal.
* Replenishing supplies of soap, paper towels, toilet rolls and waste disposal bags.
* Ensuring all cleaning equipment is cleaned for the next day.
* Safely storing cleaning equipment and products.
* Reporting faulty cleaning equipment and any conditions requiring attention.
* Effectively monitoring and reporting stock levels of cleaning materials.
* Washing and disinfecting waste bins where necessary.
* Following and adhering to health and safety procedures.
* Adhering to cleaning regimens to ensure regular timely cleaning.
* Recording the cleaning of each specific area of work as required by the business.
* Undertaking any other cleaning tasks that may occasionally be required on a periodic basis, with prior notification.

Person Specification
Experience – Essential: Previous cleaning experience; attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Knowledge & Skills – Essential: Effective communication (written and oral), ability to follow policy and procedure, manage stock, good interpersonal skills, implement instructions, prioritise workload, work unsupervised, understanding of COSHH.
Qualifications – Essential: Basic standard of education.
Desirable: City & Guilds Level 2 or related cleaning qualification.
Personal Qualities – Polite, confident, reliable, flexible.
