Clinical/Medical Negligence Solicitor Puro Associates are currently recruiting for a well established Firm based in Manchester. Our growing volume of clinical negligence work has created the opportunity to expand our team. Working alongside an established caseload and experienced colleagues, this role will strengthen capacity within a close-knit, hands-on department where patient outcomes and proportionate case handling remain the priority. The Role – Key Responsibilities Assessment of new matters: Review and triage incoming enquiries across a wide spectrum, including misdiagnosis, surgical error, obstetric and birth injury, and fatal cases. Provide early, informed recommendations on case prospects. Strategic case management: Shape litigation strategy across breach, causation and quantum; maintain effective control over disbursements and costs through robust budgeting, CPR compliance and Part 36 use. Evidence preparation: Draft statements, Letters of Claim, expert questions and court documentation; compile trial bundles; liaise with Counsel and manage settlement discussions and hearings. Client service: Deliver clear, empathetic advice, maintaining strong communication throughout proceedings so clients remain informed, supported and confident in their case. File and data management: Ensure rigorous file discipline, record accurate management information, monitor fee forecasts and costs, and support team training with feedback and learning. Collaboration: Work directly with the Head of PI, provide guidance to junior team members, and contribute insights and knowledge sharing across the wider firm. Candidate Profile Previous experience running a litigated caseload in claimant Clinical/Medical Negligence. Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance maximising outcomes with proportionate costs. Skilled in drafting, negotiation, expert liaison and cost control. A calm, empathetic communicator who inspires client trust and keeps cases on track. Working Model Hybrid approach with office-based induction and systems training. Core hours 10:00–16:00, with flexibility between 08:00–18:00. Monthly in-office team days for collaboration and development. Benefits & Rewards Salary £45,000–£55,000 DOE plus recognition bonuses and TOIL. 31 days’ annual leave including bank holidays, plus birthday leave (option to purchase an additional 5 days).
