Overview
Production Engineer - Metal Forming (DWI 2-Piece Can) within the Project Engineering team Bevcan EMA, based at one of our European plant locations. The role supports 12 manufacturing locations in Europe (UK, France, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Greece, Germany and Turkey) and 5 in the Middle East and North Africa (UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia). You will also be involved in project work at new greenfield sites and newly acquired manufacturing locations. Your mission is to join Crown and participate in all activities of Metal Forming within the Mechanical Project Engineering Team to improve standards of the manufacturing processes in terms of quality, cost and efficiency.
The primary areas of activity and responsibility include Coil Handling, Cupping system, Bodymakers, Trimmers, Neck er, Flanger, Reformer, Die sets, Tooling and Lubricants applied in the forming process. You promote the development of SOPs, Best Practices and Cost Reduction Programmes. You deliver classroom and hands-on training of Metal Forming equipment and processes. You liaise with Crown Technology on equipment, tooling, materials and process improvements and standardisation of specifications.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate has a sound engineering background or is qualified to ONC, HNC, HND or degree level. You are highly experienced in 2pc engineering and process knowledge, with a safety mind-set. You have the ability to acquire and utilise knowledge in cupping, bodymaking and necking. You can communicate clearly and concisely at all levels and demonstrate logical problem-solving and effective decision-making skills. You are a self-starter, an effective team player with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and computer literate. You are flexible to travel at short notice and for extended periods overseas, with the willingness to adapt to different cultures and circumstances.
