About the role

As a Public Health Analyst you will analyse, interpret and present complex data from local and national sources to inform policy, strategy and commissioning decisions, turning data into insight that influences services, improves population health and tackles health inequalities. You will contribute to major public health intelligence products such as needs assessments, health profiles and the Annual Public Health Report.


Responsibilities

* Analyse and interpret a wide range of public health datasets to generate actionable insight and intelligence.
* Support and contribute to key reports such as the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and Annual Public Health Report.
* Contribute to projects addressing health inequalities and key population health priorities.
* Present complex information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences, including non-specialists.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support evidence‑based decision making.
* Ensure the quality, accuracy and integrity of data used to inform public health intelligence.


About you

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in improving health and wellbeing through data and evidence, and a commitment to reducing health inequalities.


Qualifications

* Good standard of education including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
* A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject such as public health, statistics, research or similar.
* Strong numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills.
* The ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
* Good IT skills, including experience with Excel and data analysis tools; Power BI, R and/or GIS experience desirable.
* A Master’s in Public Health or Public Health Practitioner registration is welcomed but not essential.
