Overview
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food production and presentation. This position requires a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Sous Chef will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff.
* Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menu items that align with our restaurant's vision.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
* Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Ensure that all dishes are prepared to specification and presented beautifully before serving.
* Handle any kitchen-related issues that may arise during service.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting.
* Strong supervisory experience with a focus on team management and leadership.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen operations.
* Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on food preparation and presentation.
* Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
* Previous hospitality experience is highly desirable.
* Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
